To overcome the issues associated with installing a high-speed piezoelectric pressure transducer in a deep well application (thick apparatus walls), a two-piece stainless steel instrument adapter was designed. The head of the adapter included provisions for the insertion of the transducer and proper sealing. The two-piece design allows for the transducer clamp to be easily tightened and to allow for connection and routing of the signal output wire. The head is then threaded into the cap piece, placing the transducer at the proper depth and the integrated seals maintain a gas-tight seal. Using different head designs allows the adapter to be used with the pressure transducers, ionization probes, photodiodes, or any other instrument that fits within the outer diameter.
