To support the beginning of OpenFOAM numerical simulation in the laboratory, a total of three dedicated simulation computers, as well as a storage server were built. Based on the available budget, parts were selected to maximize performance in CPU-based simulations. Machines were based on dual-socket Intel Xeon server motherboards, giving each machine between 12 and 16 CPU cores with 64 GB of RAM.
