The design of the shock tube incorporates a round driver section and a square test section. Between the two is a transition. After initial testing, it was determined that the transition piece resulted in the generation of unwanted transverse shock waves. To remedy this, a new geometry for the transition was developed by the original designer. My role was to incorporate this new design into the shock tube. To do this, the original transition with associated clamping hardware was modified and incorporated into the new transition geometry.
